Emergency Triage Shelter

Bartlett Housing Solutions has an Emergency Triage Shelter to help provide immediate care for those who have recently or unexpectedly experienced homelessness. Located in downtown Morgantown, at 1110 University Avenue, this facility is often referred to as our ‘front door’ to our program and serves as a temporary place for individuals and families to stay when they have nowhere else to go. It is a no-barrier shelter which means that there are no requirements for entry (sobriety, employment, receiving mental health treatment, etc.) other than being homeless.

Although case management is not required; a case manager is assigned to work with clients on a housing plan and assess their housing and immediate needs. This program is not intended to be a long or even medium-term program but rather serves as an emergency resource until a more permanent housing location can be identified. Often times clients in this program are referred to our transitional housing program, our permanent supportive apartment units or our rapid re-housing program which utilizes community-based apartments with in-home case management support.

Our Emergency Triage shelter has 28 beds and operates on a first come first serve basis. Clients are encouraged to work on a housing plan to move out of this program as quickly as possible to, ensure the “emergency beds” remain available for new individuals requiring service.
